Fireworks Safety Guidelines
- 1Always use fireworks outdoors in a clear, open area away from buildings and dry vegetation.
- 2Read and follow all instructions on the product label before use.
- 3Keep water, a hose, or a fire extinguisher nearby at all times.
- 4Never allow children to handle or ignite fireworks. Adult supervision is required.
- 5Light one firework at a time and move to a safe distance immediately after lighting.
- 6Never try to relight a firework that has malfunctioned. Wait 20 minutes, then soak it in water.
- 7Dispose of used fireworks by soaking them in water before placing them in a metal trash container.
- 8Check your local municipal bylaws for fireworks restrictions and permitted dates in your area.
